Mars inhabitants are the original Sea Monkeys😂
Ah, yes. For some reason flying "cars" are always a part of the future as well as the buildings NYC had in this version. Oh well, as the old saying goes: "the future ain't what it used to be".
Tape lifts from his prints! Lifts with tape and placed anywhere!
You had me at Bela Lugosi.
My pop sang and played guitar and did so every day, He was Elvis Presley's Sarge, they sang as they went down the road together. And they learned from each other.
I enjoy war-era movies. I've never seen this one. Thanks for your hard work!
This sort of film isn't my cup of tea at all. Twenty minutes in and I have to move along to the next film. However, I can recognize a high quality film. If I could, I'd give it two thumbs up. Great cinematography!
Thanks for sharing! I’m excited to see it
Our favorite program , from our childhood , my sisters y brothers I joyed seeing Charlie Chan , movies.
Embodiment of integrity, wisdom, and valiance in the face of determined wrongful actions. Miss this.
I am 83 and I remember watching Charlie Chan when I was a small child in late 40’s, my older brothers and sisters loved these mysteries …..my favorite Charlie Chan was this guy in , Dark Alibi……
The conversations between the brothers when then finish each others sentences is priceless!!!
That stuffed animal dog got wrekt.
Used to watch Charlie Chan on WGN - Chicago, Sunday mornings, early 80's. Classic comedy.
Love these old detective novels
Chan's son is still a mental defective.
Not a fan of silent films, but this was really good. The sets, scenery, and costumes are magnificent. Unfortunately, the likes of which will be nevermore. 😢
As an antiques and history buff, I can easily say that's the biggest sleeping closet I've ever seen, bar none! 😮😮😮
REMAKE = SIMU LIU as Charlie Chan martial arts movie
very racist hollywood jews. white man as Charlie Chan with stereotypical accent and music GROSS
You need a 400 mg Thorazine
Here bc Good Omens. Oh Neil Gaiman, you sly devil.
Good movie, thank you. The like button is not working properly.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Charlie Chan movies are absolutely worth their weight in gold. the ones with Birmingham are priceless.
Monogram had a tiny little four and a half acre studio with three modest stages and a wee backlot in gay East Hollywood. Now it's owned by Scientology.
Use tape 4 fingerprints
Janet Gaynor was Fox's most reliable female star in the 20's and 30's; "Sunrise" is an absolute classic, as were "7th Heaven" and this one. She easily made the transition from silent to sound and is probably better known as the star of the first "A Star is Born" for Selznick International in 1937.
I’m 79 years old and have been watching Charley Chan since I was in hi school and have watched with pleasure and still enjoy today till today 2024
Can you explain what pre code means in simple terms? Explain like I'm five, if you will ❤
I can! Pre-code refers to films create before the adoption of the Hays Production Code. I self-censoring of movies that followed guidelines set down by Will Hays. This included limitations on characters and stories. This included not having women appear to be promiscuous, not showing authority figures in a bad light, and not allowing wrong doers from "getting away" with anything and always having to pay for their crimes. (So no anti-heroes or vigilantes, etc) You can read more about it here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hays_Code
@@OrphanedEntertainment oooh well now that's interesting, thank you so much!
I love UK actors so David Niven is a treat. Thank you for posting ❤❤❤❤❤😮😂🎉
Charlie was master of the quick comeback. Pop, I've been thinking. Impossible.
Yes! Poor number 1, or 2, or 3 son. Always trying so hard to please pop and Charlie giving so much grief. haha!z We had a lot of fun talking bout it on the Orphaned Entertainment podcast!
Much appreciation for sharing this classic pre-code film!
You're welcome! We are really looking forward to talking about it on the Orphaned Entertainment Podcast!
I HAVE A HEADACHE, YEAH AND NOW YOU HAVE A HEADACHE
good gracias ah me
Was intrigued after watching a 10-second clip of _Just Imagine_ (from 3:26) whilst watching a documentary called _A Brief History of the Future._ I find it funny how "1980" New York City was looked at as futuristic in 1930. When in reality, 1980 was probably the crappiest year in the entire history of the city. Many thanks *Orphaned Entertainment* for posting this!
You are very welcome!
This is a GREAT classic so if you have not seen it then watch it now 👍👍✔✔
We agree!
Shave, Haircut, Gig line, Feet, nose, face, grunge... straighten up and fly right...

There are a lot of twists and turns in the plot before everything comes out in the end and they hon go on to make the appointment! Fred macmurray and Joan Bennett were good in this flick and zasu pitts stole the show! Good movie 🎥! 😊😊😊😊😊

Perfectly delightful comedy. Thank you.
I have always loved this movie since the first time I saw it about twenty five years ago. I believe it was one of their most funniest movies!😁😂👍🎥🍿
Horrible acting horrible script can't watch anymore
I find it hard to believe that in the fifties The U.S Army needed to remind grown men to brush their teeth and use soap when showering. This film seems wholly unnecessary to me.
Thank you so much for sharing the Charlie Chan movies I love Charlie Chan and all his movies and I appreciate it very very much
Love these, based on a real guy
Yes! Amazing bit of trivia, isn't it? We mentioned that when we talked about it on the podcast!
Sydney Toler is the best
"Douglas came into my room and said, 'Let's go down and look at one of these soundstages.' And the doors of the studio were wide open rather like an aeroplane hangar. And Douglas paused, he looked into this darkness, and he laid his hand on my arm and he said, 'Laurence, the romance of motion picture making ends here.'" -Laurence Irving, Hollywood (1980)
